Jumping the Start: 360 Nationals/Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stock Nationals at Grays Harbor
Grays Harbor Raceway is hosting not one, but two big races on Friday and Saturday. The Summer Thunder Sprint Series will have their 360 Nationals, with the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stock Nationals on the schedule as well.

Friday’s STSS main event pays $2,000 to win and the stakes get higher on Saturday, as a $5,000 winners check is on the line. The winner for Saturday’s street stock main event gets $1,000.

Henry Van Dam comes in as the STSS points leader. He won on June 7 at Elma over Tayler Malsam and Jayme Barnes. Van Dam and Barnes were at Cottage Grove Speedway last Friday and Saturday with the ASCS Northwest Region Series to wrap up Speedweek Northwest. Logan Forler won Saturday’s A-Main over Colin Baker and Kyle Hirst (who was Speedweek champion). Van Dam finished fourth, while Barnes was tenth.

Coming back to race with the STSS is last year’s series runner-up Travis Rilat. The Forney, Texas veteran has three victories this year. Look for him driving Richard Saumure’s #39C car based out of Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada.

Jack Parshall is the points leader in the street stocks division. He also won last Saturday’s midseason championships with Austin Kerrigan finishing in second and Brenton Schnitzer was third.

The Summer Thunder Sprint Series and the Cut Rate Auto Parts street stocks look to provide some more fireworks, even though the 4th of July has already come and gone!
